H.323 is an ITU (International Telecommunication Union) standard for IP (Internet Protocol) telephony developed as an add-on of the H.320 that specified the standards required for videoconferencing over ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and other circuit switch networks. H.323 helps allow users to participate in videoconferencing with other users using different applications and hardware.
