HiFD

A high capacity floppy disk, or HiFD, is a 3.5" floppy disk that can store either 150 or 200 megabytes of data, depending on the unit. Released by Sony in late 1998, HiFD was designed to replace the standard 3.5" floppy disk; although the HiFD drives were backward compatible with the old 1.44 MB versions.

Unfortunately, the HiFD never gained much popularity due to the introduction and use of Zip drives and CD-R (compact disc recordable) media. For this reason, Sony manufactured and sold HiFD for a relatively short period.
