Short for Internet Movie Database, IMDb was first
started by Col Needham and others as a popular usenet
newsgroup
in 1989 as a place to exchange
and share
movie information.
IMDb was later moved to a web
site and became one of the most popular locations
to locate any information relating to movies. In 1998 it was purchased
by Amazon.com.
Today, you can find everything related to almost every movie, actor,
actress, TV show and much more.
