Jewel box

Also known as a jewel case, a jewel box is the name of the plastic protective box a CD is included in. As can be seen by the picture to the right the CD Jewel box is a simple plastic box that is slightly larger than a CD with a small CD capture in the center to hold the disc in place. Often many jewel boxes will have a paper sleeve or insert with a picture or additional information about the CD.
