Line level may refer to any of the following:

1. With audio, the line level is the strength of an audio signal transmitted between audio devices. For example, the line level between a computer sound card and a microphone or headphones.

2. With telecommunications, a line level is a signal level represented in decibels or nepers at a particular position on a line. When measured in decibels, a multiple of the base-10 logarithm of the ratio between two values is used. The natural logarithm of the ratio between two values is used with nepers.
