4 color printing

Alternatively called CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and key), 4 color printing is where a printer uses a combination of cyan, magenta, and yellow inks to reproduce color in a printed document. Theoretically, these should be the only colors necessary, but because of the physical properties of ink, a fourth color (black) is required to achieve accurate dark levels.
