A pitch may refer to any of the following:
1. With a word processing or desktop publishing program, pitch is a measurement used to determine how many fixed-width characters can fit into an inch of space.
2. With sound, pitch refers to the subjective perception of frequency.
3. When describing a color, pitch may be used with "black" to describe pitch black or an absolute black. With an HTML color codes, #000000 is the color code for pitch black.
