PowerNow! is a feature with AMD's K6-2+, K6-III+, mobile Athlon, Turion 64, and later AMD mobile processors that allows the processor speed to be controlled through software. By reducing the overall speed of the processor it helps conserve power and reduce the heat produced by the processor, which saves on battery life.
