Radix

Radix is a term used to describe the number used to get the next higher digit place in a number system. Examples of radix numbers are 2 in binary, 10 in decimal and 16 in hexadecimal. In these examples, when multiplying the number by the radix number, you will get the next higher digit place. In other words, 1 x 10 = 11.
