RTC
Short for real-time clock, RTC is a battery powered clock that is an IC located on the computer motherboard that allows the computer to keep a computer pacing signal and time. For example, the RTC keeps track of the second, minute, hour, day, month and year and also is responsible for making sure that everything keeps in order while the computer is running.
