| Communication channel that carries diagnostic information and is a lower priority than data being passed over the primary channel. When referring to a IDE / ATA hard disk drive the secondary channel is what the second master and slave drive connect to as shown in the below picture. If color coded the secondary channel will often be black and the primary will be blue.
