Skin
Skin may refer to any of the following:
1. Alternatively known as skinz or a software skin, a skin enables users to change a program's overall look and feel without affecting its functionality. There are several applications today that allow users to customize the skins or look of the program, including Opera, Winamp, Windows (with LiteStep), and Windows Media Player. When a new skin is applied, it's called reskinning.
2. With gaming, a skin is a different texture applied to the surface of a game's character or item to give it a unique appearance. For example, many FPS (first-person shooter) and live service games allow players to acquire different gun skins to give them a more personalized look. Skins may be designed and sold by other players, found in-game, awarded for completing a task, or found in loot boxes.
3. With hardware, a skin is plastic material placed on a device, like a game controller, keyboard, back of a laptop, etc., that gives it a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
4. With the human body, the skin is the largest organ in the body covering the entire body. See the following link for how the skin could be compared to a computer part.
