SOP

SOP may refer to any of the following:

1. Short for super operator, SOP is the second highest privileged user in IRC (Internet Relay Chat) that can grant other users rights and controlling the chat channel.

2. SOP is an acronym for standard operating procedure, a collection of rules and instructions that if followed results in a completed task. For example, when you call customer service the agent on the phone line is following the companies standard operating procedure to resolve your question.
