A systems engineer is a person who designs and manages complex systems over their entire life cycle. Systems engineering is a discipline that spans many different industries including aircraft design, software engineering, CPU (central processing unit) design, and the construction of a skyscraper. A systems engineer manages all the issues a complex project encounters, such as logistics, resource management, optimization methods, and risk management.
