Uptime may refer to any of the following:

1. The time a computer system or network service is operational without interruption is called uptime. For example, some devices, such as a network router, may have a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

On a Unix-like system (e.g., Linux or macOS), you can use the uptime command to see how long since the system was last started.

uptime
01:33:27 up 29 days, 2:30, 1 user, load average: 0.08, 0.04, 0.01
Tip

In Windows Task Manager, you can find the uptime by going to the Performance tab and looking at the bottom of the CPU (central processing unit) stats to see the total uptime.

2. In computer gaming, especially MMORPGs, uptime refers to how long a player can attack or "engage" with another player or NPC (non-player character) in a combat setting over a certain interval. For example, in World of Warcraft, a player whose melee class can stay near and attack a raid boss for three out of a four-minute encounter is said to have 75% uptime.
