VBR

  1. Short for Variable Bit Rate; when referring to audio, VBR is a method of encoding an MP3 file by how much data is in the MP3 file.
  2. Short for Variable Bit Rate; when referring to a network, VBR is a type of network setup that is capable of handling fixed timing and non-fixed timing traffic.
  3. Also known as the Volume Boot Sector, VBR is short for Volume Boot Record and is the first sector of the first cylinder on a hard disk drive that contains information about where each of the important operating system files are located.
