Virtual image

  1. When referring to a file, a virtual image is a file that contains the location and information about the files being written to a medium such as a CD-R disc.
  2. When referring to a graphic or screen, a virtual image refers to an image that is larger than what can be displayed on the screen. The image is stored in memory and can be viewed by scrolling in any direction or zooming out to see the complete image.
