The process of creating or updating the content of web pages is called web development, web dev, or web publishing. Whether it is to be viewed on the Internet or a local network, the content created using web development varies widely in its complexity. Tasks can range from quite basic, such as adding text and images, to the more difficult job of creating an interactive online application (e.g., a game or product shopping system).

Additional web development information

The process of web development utilizes one or more programming languages, including C#, CSS (cascading style sheets), HTML (hypertext markup language), Java, JavaScript, PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor), and Visual Basic. A person who has a career in web development is called a web developer. A web developer is also expected to maintain existing web pages, and sometimes manage the security of a website.
