1. New Computer Term.

RIMM - RIMM is not an acronym and is a trademark of Rambus
incorporated. A RIMM is a new memory module and is a general
purpose high-performance memory module suitable for use in a
broad range of applications including computer memory,
personal computer, workstations and other applications. The
Rambus RIMM module consists of high-speed CMOS DRAMs organized
as 16M words by 16 or 18bits. The use of Rambus Signaling
Level (RSL) technology permits 600 MHz, 711 MHz or 800 MHz
transfer rates with using conventional system and board design
technologies. RDRAM devices are capable of sustained data
transfers at 1.25 ns per two bytes (10ns per 16 bytes).

RIMM is the likely replacement for the DIMM memory module that
is becoming commonly used today.
