Top News Story: Domain names set to go multilingual
* msnbc.com -- Internet domain names in languages other than English should be available within the next few weeks or months, the chairman of the Internets key oversight body said Wednesday. Vincent G. Cerf said the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, would likely approve technical standards Thursday. The standards allow the worlds computers built around English to recognize Chinese, Arabic and other languages.

* Virus: No new virus news this week.
* Security:
- Internetnews.com -- The Sendmail Consortium, which manages deployment of the world's most popular message transfer agent (MTA) to handle email, was left scrambling over the weekend to fix a remotely exploitable vulnerability that could allow an attacker to gain control of a unpatched sendmail server.
- infoworld.com -- Microsoft's statement on Wednesday that it would not offer a version of a security patch for NT 4.0 has called into question an earlier promise to continue supporting the operating system through the end of 2004 and raised concern among its customers.
- story.news.yahoo.com -- A Microsoft security flaw revealed last week is much more serious than initially thought, several security companies have said. It's important that businesses apply a new patch to all Windows 2000 systems, advisories state--not just those running Microsoft's IIS Web server software.

This week NTT DoCoMo introduced Wristomo, a mobile phone capable of being worn on the wrist. This is a great concept and likely be very useful for those of us who consistently using their mobile phones. The Wristomo website is only available in Japanese and because the site is in Flash cannot be translated into other languages.
