Leet ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/l/leet.htm ) -
1. Term used by a select few individuals who consider themselves elite. Today individuals use this term to describe himself or herself as an elite hacker or haxor. Because this is generally not the case an individuals who consider themselves 'leet' are commonly looked down upon by real computer experts. Users may also announce themselves as elite by typing 1337, which looks like L - E - E - T.
2. Leet is also a small creature on the computer game Anarchy Online.

* Virus:

- infoworld.com -- In the latest example of computer virus writers capitalizing on current events, a new e-mail worm uses fears about SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) to entice users into opening a file attachment, infecting host machines and helping spread the virus to other machines on the Internet.

* Security:

- infoworld.com -- Two new product security patches from Microsoft target a number of critical security flaws in the Outlook Express e-mail application and Internet Explorer Web browser.

* Privacy: No new privacy news this week.

4. What's new at Computer Hope this week?

- Continued work effort on computer dictionary revamp.
- Computer Hope mistakenly misconfigured its script directory after performing a large update. This issue caused the majority of our scripts and programs to generate errors when they were viewed or executed. This issue was resolved late during the day. Additionally we would like to thank each of our visitors who let us know about this issue.
- Computer Hope continues to make significant updates to its new search engine and other scripts and plans on posting a new beta section for a full site revamp in the next few weeks.

This week we came across the "Phaselator", a product designed by VoxTec. The Phaselator is a hardware device capable of playing over 1,000 phrases in multiple languages over a speaker. Running on Microsoft Windows CE the device the device is weather resistant, small and light, and is also capable of being utilized for a PDA. Although much more expensive then a standard PDA, this device could be a invaluable device for travelers.
