1. Short for Role Playing Game where players act out of a different reality.
2. Short for Report Program Generator, RPG programming is a programming language developed by IBM in the 1960s to simplify programming for business applications.
3. Short for Raster Pattern Generator is the set of electronic circuits that converts raster patterns into bit patterns.

* Virus:
- story.news.yahoo.com -- A new variant of a computer virus spreading around the Internet on spoofs the e-mail address of the sender, making it difficult to determine the source of infection, antivirus experts said.
* Security:
- infoworld.com -- Vulnerabilities exist in two Windows Media products that can allow an attacker to take over a media server or view a user's media library, Microsoft warned Wednesday.
- msnbc.com -- Another version of the SoBig virus, the fifth in recent weeks, hit Internet users Wednesday. antivirus firms quickly raised the risk to medium as the worm started spreading rapidly during U.S. business hours. The latest SoBig outbreak, plus another malicious effort also unleashed Wednesday, show the line between viruses and spam continues to blur. Whats worse, virus writers are refining techniques to hijack innocent victims computers, turning them into an army of spam machines.
* Privacy:
- story.news.yahoo.com -- Web site operators are getting better at figuring out where you live and what your interests are, all in the process of better targeting their advertising and content. And while on the surface that sounds like a welcome development, like anything else on the Internet it has a dark side as well. This week Google introduced a beta version of their toolbar. For users unfamiliar with the Google toolbar, this feature enables Microsoft Windows users running Internet Explorer 5 or later the ability to implement the Google search and other features into their browser. The Google toolbar 2.0 has all the previous versions as the original Google toolbar however also includes an "AutoFill" feature that allows you to automatically fill out forms, "BlogThis" feature enables you to create a weblog about the page, and finally also includes a free "Popup Blocker" enabling you to easily block Internet advertising.
