* Virus:
- story.news.yahoo.com -- antivirus companies warned customers Friday about a new e-mail virus that is spreading on the Internet.
W32.Mimail is a mass mailing e-mail worm the arrives in e-mail in-boxes disguised as an administrative e-mail sent from an organization's own administrator.
* Security:
- story.news.yahoo.com -- Hand-held computers used to store phone numbers, medical and credit-card information leave millions of gadget lovers fully exposed to identity-theft and other crimes, security experts said on Saturday.
- news.com.com -- A security research company has released its own patch for critical flaws in a popular computer game, saying it had waited months for the game's creator to do something.
- newscientist.com -- Computer hackers have adopted a startling strategy in their attempts to break into websites. By using the popular search engine Google, they do not have to visit a site to plan an attack. Instead, they can get all the information they need from Google's cached versions of web pages, say experts in the US.

- Computer Hope has completed its first site-wide update to its web page. As mentioned in our last newsletter this update included several updates, compatibility corrections, new feedback feature, new Google advertising, and accessibility features. Additional information about each of these updates can be found on our "whats new page".
- Updated Computer Hope's word of the day section. This update fixed an issue with the word of the day repeating the same 30 words of the day.

This week we came across Audiopad, a project developed by James Patten and Ben Recht at the MIT Media Lab. Audiopad is a matrix of antenna elements which track the positions of electronically tagged objects on a tabletop surface. Software translates the position information into music and graphical feedback on the tabletop. Each object represents either a musical track or a microphone. Anyone who has interest in music and/or new ideas should definitely have a look at this site, its downloadable explanation movie, and/or other projects that James Patten has worked on.
