Top News Story: Internet attack taunts Microsoft founder Bill Gates
* cbc.ca -- A new computer worm is spreading over the Internet, exploiting a flaw in the Windows operating system.
The U.S. government and various Internet experts say the worm does not appear to delete files or cause permanent damage to computers. But it has knocked many computers offline. It has not affected computers based on non-Microsoft operating systems

* Virus:
pcworld.com -- The Blaster worm -- also known as MSBlast or LoveSAN -- has hit at least 330,000 machines around the world, according to Symantec, which has been tracking the spread of the worm since it first appeared.
zdnet.com.com -- As part of its effort to stop the progress of the MSBlast worm, Microsoft is killing off the Windows Update address that the self-propagating program was set to attack.
story.news.yahoo.com -- Home computer users got blasted by the Internet "worm" called Blaster on Wednesday as they struggled to apply a fix that office technicians handled easily, even as several experts said a new variant had emerged.
* Security:
Internetwk.com -- In mid-March, someone hacked the primary file servers hosted by the GNU Project, the group which supports the development of many of the components in the Linux operating system, the group acknowledged Wednesday. It warned that the attacker may have inserted malicious code into the free software available for download, including Linux, and posted a set of hashes that users can check against to determine if what they retrieved is clean.
* Privacy:
theage.com.au -- Microsoft has scoffed at suggestions its software contains back doors for use by United States intelligence services as the Australian government signed on for access to the source code behind Windows.

4. What's new at Computer Hope this week?

* Uploaded version 1.6 of our search engine. This new version of our search engine includes the below fixes and additions.
- New feature that automatically forwards a user to a Computer Hope document if they type its identification number. For example typing "CH000500" into the search will now automatically forward you to that document.
- Improved the Artificial Intelligence section of the Search Engine. There were issues that existed with the Artificial Intelligence giving improper advice for searches.
- Corrected search algorithm issue. This issue caused searches that contained large amounts of results to be fully displayed and not sorted through using the sort algorithm.
- Updated search index parser to help sort data better.
- Corrected various other minor glitches with some of the searches.
- Updated Computer Hope news section with new features and fixes.
- Updated Dictionary section.
- Updated Computer dictionary submit word tool to help eliminate the potential problem of people submitting words that already exist in dictionary.
