1. New Computer Term.
SMP - Short for Symmetric Multiprocessing SMP is the
processing of a program by multiple processors that
share a common operating system and memory. In symmetric
multiprocessing the processors share memory and the
I/O bus or data path and is controlled by one operating
system. SMP systems generally do not exceed 16 processors.

2. What's new in the news last week?
* 5/01/2001 - Unchecked buffer in ISAPI Extension
could enable compromise of Windows 2000 IIS 5.0 Server.
* 5/01/2001 - Businesswire: Micron Electronics, Inc.,
today announced that Gores Technology Group will acquire the
assets and liabilities of its PC business, in a transaction
that may provide upside potential in the event of future sale
of the business by Gores, and saves Micron Electronics'
shareholders further losses on its PC business.
* 5/03/2001 - Dell is voluntarily recalling about 284,000
batteries supplied to Dell for use in some of its notebook
computers. These batteries can overcharge, causing them to
become very hot, release smoke and possibly catch fire.
