Short for Optical Carrier, OC is a term used to specify a speed of fiber-optic networks. Below is a listing of OC types and the corresponding speeds for each of those types.
OC-1 = 51.85 Mbps
OC-3 (STS-3 or STM-1) = 155.52 Mbps
OC-12 (STS-12 or STM-4) = 622.08 Mbps
OC-24 (STS-24 or STM-8) = 1.244 Gbps
OC-48 (STS-48 or STM-16) = 2.488 Gbps
OC-192 (STS-192- or STM-64) = 9.952 Gbps
OC-768 = 40 Gbps

Internetnews.com -- The U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) has published a security flaw that has no complete workaround, leaving PCs at risk even if protective steps are taken
Cisco Warns Of WLAN Hole
informationweek.securitypipeline.com -- Cisco Systems warned in a security advisory Wednesday that some versions of its software for managing wireless LANs have a security hole that could enable hackers to take control of a WLAN or Web site.
WinAmp music to hackers' ears
techworld.com -- A "highly critical" hole in one of the most-used pieces of software in the world means that audio files will be music to hackers' ears.
RealPlayer Open To Remote Attack
informationweek.securitypipeline.com -- A day before RealNetworks posted the final release of its RealPlayer 10 multimedia player, the Seattle-based developer noted that flaws in a component of many of the earlier versions of the client could allow a remote attack.
