* Virus:
Transmeta to add antivirus feature to chips
news.com.com -- Chipmaker Transmeta is working to make its microprocessors capable of protecting computers from virus and worm attacks, the company said Monday.
Beware! BMP files may contain a new virus
kaspersky.com -- Kaspersky Labs, a leading information security software developer has detected a mass mailing of a new Trojan named Agent. Agent infects victim machines when users view graphics in BMP format.
AOL touts its virus-blocking stats
zdnet.com.com -- America Online says it's blocked more than 1 billion virus-infected e-mails since launching a screening program in April 2003.
Wallon worm uses Yahoo, IE flaw to spread
computerworld.com -- antivirus software companies issued warnings and software updates yesterday and Tuesday for a new worm, Wallon, that uses deceptive Web links to Yahoo.com to trick users into downloading malicious programs.
* Security:
Symantec Warns Of Flaw In antivirus Program
story.news.yahoo.com -- Symantec Corp. is warning its customers about a security vulnerability within its antivirus application. The Internet security vendor ranks the flaw as "medium," while security research group Secunia pegged the flaw as "moderately critical."
Apple issues Mac OS X security patch
news.com.com -- Apple Computer on Friday issued an update to Mac OS X to address flaws that security firms said could allow malicious code to be run on a Macintosh.
Russian site says Cisco code may have leaked
smh.com.au -- Source code for some versions of Cisco's IOS has probably been stolen by an individual who broke into the company's corporate network, a Russian security news portal has reported.
