Intensity bit ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/i/intenbit.htm ) -
Bit of information used to display different intensities of color with computer software and computer monitors. For example the IRGB monitor was capable of displaying 16 different colors because of this bit.

CNN: The global trade in pirated software, from versions of Microsoft Windows XP to Adobe Acrobat, hit nearly $29 billion in 2003, an industry trade body said in its annual survey on Wednesday.

Old-school worm loves Windows applications
news.com.com -- The latest variant of the Lovgate worm scans PCs for executable files and then renames them, a tactic used by viruses from a much older generation, according to antivirus companies.
Bagle author releases 'dangerous' assembler code
news.zdnet.co.uk -- Two new Bagle worm variants and the worm's original assembler source code were spreading around the Internet on Sunday - a dangerous development, according to security experts.
* Security:
Harmful applet crashing with assertion
illegalaccess.org -- Security Advisory: Three months ago I informed Sun Microsystems about an applet alerting with a native assertion (Expression: offset < fFileSize For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts...) . If the users opts for cancel, it is crashing the browser which started the applet. This Applet crashes 1.4.2 Java Plugin Again a java problem in a browser, tested with a broad range of versions of the SUN JDK (1.4.1_07, 1.4.2_03).
Mozilla Security Nightmare Begins
story.news.yahoo.com -- Just when Windows users thought it was safe to move away from Internet Explorer and its litany of security issues, a flaw has been detected in Mozilla, the open-source alternative to Microsoft's widely used browser.

4. What's new at Computer Hope this week?
------------------------------------------------------------
- * With the new month of July, Computer Hope has posted its new monthly Poll - "What is your favorite media player?" as well as results from last months poll, Quiz - "How many pins is a IDE/EIDE connector?" and Tip - "Internet and Spyware".
- Posted 3.0 version of the Computer Hope search engine. This updated version of the Computer Hope search engine includes the below new features.
1. The ability to search Computer Hope newsletters as well as get links to any of the news articles we have posted in our news section. This is a great new feature that we hope all users will find useful.
2. Users can now link directly to the search engine using a permalink to get results for either Computer Hope related pages and/or news articles.
For example:
http://www.computerhope.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?s=microsoft
Would display search results relating to Microsoft.
Or:
http://www.computerhope.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?news=riaa
Would display news search results relating to RIAA
Note: Also working on a method of getting these links to be displayed in the URL field for each search performed on Computer Hope.
3. Created a section that will give users additional recommendations to try if the search engine was unable to find any results.
4. Updated the algorithms used to pull the results for the general Computer Hope search.
5. Updated search index.
6. Updated stop words.
- Updated the Computer Hope word converter with numerous fixes for word matching related issues and an updated look.
- Added new link on the results of the Computer Hope poll results that enables users to add their own comments about this months poll. Depending on the feedback and how much this new feature is used we may also add other similar services to other sections of our site.
- Updated dictionary with new dictionary definitions and updates.
- Exceeded disk quota issue again causing issues once again with the Computer Hope forums and polls. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are working with our storage provider to hopefully get this issues resolved for good. This down time did cause some minor issues Sunday from 7AM - 5PM.
- Performed numerous other updates throughout web page.

This week Microsoft announced new designer mice that are each unique and different. Each of the new models announced this week were designed by the industry designer Philippe Starck and definitely are like no other mouse. The above link is a page that allows users to see a listing of pictures of each of the new mice as well as other new mice from Microsoft.
