Daughter board ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/d/daughter.htm ) -
Also known as piggyback boards, daughter boards are expansion boards that commonly connect directly to the motherboard and give the computer an added feature such as modem capability. Today these types of boards are not found or used in desktop computers and have been replaced with ISA or PCI boards.
To disable these boards requires that the user physically remove it from the motherboard.

- W32.Sasser.Worm
securityresponse.symantec.com -- W32.Sasser.Worm is a worm that attempts to exploit the vulnerability described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS04-011. It spreads by scanning the randomly selected IP addresses for vulnerable systems.
* Security:
- Death of the Internet greatly exaggerated
news.com.com -- Security experts downplayed media reports that an "electronic jihad" aimed at Israeli Web sites will start Thursday
- Cisco warns of flaws in ACS product
computerworld.com -- Networking equipment maker Cisco Systems Inc. is warning customers about security holes in two products that provide user authentication and authorization services for network devices such as firewalls and routers.
- Windows update harbors AMD conflict
zdnet.com.com -- A problem in the Service Pack 2 update for Windows XP may keep owners of AMD-based computers from using the long-awaited security package, according to Microsoft.
- WinAmp flayed by skins attack
theregister.com -- A serious security flaw in NullSoft's popular WinAmp player opens the door for crackers to seize control of vulnerable systems.
- Critical Netscape Flaw Found
