Electron tube ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/e/electube.htm ) -
Also known as a vacuum tube an electron tube is a glass tube and or bulb that looks similar to light bulbs used in house lights today. Electron tubes were used in early computers as on and off switches for digital transmission. Today electron tubes are no longer used in computers and have been replaced by various types of transistors.

Top News Story: Lexmark loses ink cartridge battle
geek.com -- Printer makers can't be very happy, as Lexmark has just lost what could have been a landmark case for its profits and the future of printer ink cartridges. Tuesday's federal appeals court overturning of an injunction that stopped sales of a third-party printer ink cartridge refill and associated chip technology was a blow to Lexmark's printer supplies sales strategy.

Joke e-mail virus tricks users
news.bbc.co.uk -- A virus that disguises itself as a joke is spreading rapidly across the net.
AOL 9.0 Packs antivirus Protection
pcworld.com -- Citing the urgent need to protect its users from online threats, America Online will begin bundling antivirus software from McAfee with the latest version of its software, AOL 9.0, according to a statement from the company.
Virus experts fret over Myfip
theregister.co.uk -- The Myfip worm which was discovered in the wild a month ago is starting to spread, according to email security firm MessageLabs.
* Security:
Google plugs hole exposing Gmail mail-boxes
infoworld.com -- Google Inc. has fixed a security flaw in its Gmail Web-based e-mail service that allowed attackers to hijack users' e-mail accounts.
Suse warns of hole in Linux kernel
infoworld.com -- Linux distributor Suse has warned of one of the most serious security holes to date in Version 2.6 of the Linux kernel, which could allow attackers to shut down a system running 2.6-based software.
Buffer Overflow Flaw in RealPlayer
Internetnews.com -- Digital media delivery firm RealNetworks has patched a potentially serious security flaw in RealPlayer and RealOne, two software products that serve as the hub of the company's streaming media business.
* Privacy:
Dozens held over ID fraud website
news.bbc.co.uk -- Twenty-eight people, including a Briton, have been arrested after a global operation against a website allegedly involved in identity fraud.
