1. New Computer Term.

SMS (http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/sms.htm) -
1. Short for Systems Management Server, SMS are available
tools from Microsoft that help administrators perform
diagnostics, maintain and create a inventory of computers
that are connected to the Network and are running SMS.

2. Short for Storage Management Subsystem, SMS was developed
by IBM to help manage storage resources. Using software SMS
is capable of managing data security, placement, migration,
backup, recall, recovery and deletion.

3. Short for Short Message Service, SMS is a globally
accepted wireless service that allows individuals to send
short messages with wireless devices such as mobile
phones and pagers

2. What's new in the news last week?

* AP: After a much delayed start, Walmart.com will finally
roll out its own Internet service this fall with America
Online, offering unlimited access for less than $10 a month.

3. Computer Virus Alerts

* An e-mail virus hoax has been circulating the Internet
mentioning the file SULFNBK.exe and telling users to
delete the file. The file SULFNBK.EXE is actually a
Microsoft Windows utility used to restore long file
names. Do not delete this file but instead delete
the hoax e-mail.

4. What's new at Computer Hope this week?

* Computer Hope has completed its new update. The update is
a restructuring of our Computer Dictionary. We have moved
each computer definition to a page of its own. This will
allow us to organize each definition more efficiently, link
to related topics or definitions, show illustrations where
applicable, create categories for definitions which relate
to each other and link to the single definition from
any page.

The new update contains over 2,900 pages, over 6,000 new
links, 20+ definition categories, 60+ new computer related
definitions and restructure of the main dictionary page.

Unfortunately we have noticed that we have several bad
links in the new dictionary. We will be working on
resolving these bad links as fast as possible.

- With the new month of June Computer Hope has posted
its new monthly Poll - "How many years have you used a
computer?", Quiz - "Which of the following is not a
network command?" and tip - "Microsoft Word / Excel".

- Corrected various bad links and errors on web site.
- Updated search engine database.
- Updated Computer Hope history section.
- Added various new links throughout Computer Hope to linking
to the new Computer Hope dictionary.
