Fake Windows Security Update Really Virus
webpronews.com -- There is an e-mail scam going around that appears to be a message from Microsoft warning Windows users of a security update which turns out to be a virus.
antivirus company warns of new Symbian Trojan
computerworld.com -- antivirus software company F-Secure Corp. is warning mobile phone users about a new malicious software program that infects phones that use the Symbian Series 60 operating system.
* Security:
Comcast suffers DNS outage
computerworld.com -- Problems with the Domain Name System (DNS) servers at Internet service provider Comcast Corp. prevented customers around the U.S. from surfing the Web yesterday, but the company said the interruptions weren't linked in any way to a spate of recent DNS attacks known as "pharming" scams.
Critical Microsoft patches coming Tuesday
computerworld.com -- Microsoft Corp. on Tuesday plans to issue eight security alerts with patches, some critical, for Windows, Office, MSN Messenger and Exchange.
Government to certify security kit
news.zdnet.co.uk -- Security products could soon gain a stamp of assurance from the government.
Lotus flaw reported--but IBM's unfazed
news.com.com -- A flaw in IBM's Lotus Domino Server could be used to crash systems, a security company has warned, but Big Blue is disagreeing that a vulnerability exists.
Microsoft hands out antidote to poisoned URLs
news.com.com -- In response to a heightened security alert, Microsoft has updated its customer advisories for protecting its server software against DNS cache poisoning attacks.
Red Hat patches critical hole
computerworld.com -- Red Hat Inc. is warning enterprise Linux users to update their installations of XFree86 to fix a number of serious security bugs, some of which could allow attackers to take over a system.
Flaw found in Firefox
news.zdnet.com -- A flaw has been discovered in the popular open-source browser Firefox that could expose sensitive information stored in memory, Secunia has warned.
* Privacy:
Phishing Scam Twist: Bogus Sites Built To Snatch Credit Cards
informationweek.com -- Several Web sites supposedly selling very cheap airline tickets have been shut down, said a security firm, after it was discovered they existed only to harvest credit card account data.
Stolen computers contain data on 185,000 patients
computerworld.com -- A San Jose-based medical practice has notified about 185,000 current and former patients about the theft of their personal information contained on two computers stolen from its offices during a burglary March 28.

This week we thought we would talk about Google Maps, another excellent service from Google which enables users to search for locations within the United states, directions from one location to another in the United States, businesses next to an address, for example searching for all the pizza stores next to an address. In addition to all these features Google maps also recently introduced satellite pictures, which allows you to get a satellite picture of almost anywhere in the United States.
