PPP ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/p/ppp.htm ) -
Short for Point-to-Point Protocol, PPP is a communication protocol that enables a user to utilize their dialup connection (commonly a modem) to connect to other network protocols like TCP/IP, IPX, etc... Unlike SLIP, which is another popular dialup connection, protocol PPP offers such new features as password protection and error-correction.

No new security news this week.
computerworld.com -- A new wave of spam that disguises itself as a Microsoft Corp. security bulletin contains a link to malicious software that gives attackers complete access to the infected machine, security researchers are reporting.
Worm baits hook with hints of Pope plot
news.com.com -- E-mails suggesting there was a conspiracy around Pope John Paul II's death or that Michael Jackson has passed away could be carrying a worm, experts have warned.
* Security:
The 12-minute Windows heist
zdnet.com.au -- There is a 50 percent chance your unprotected Windows PC will be compromised within 12 minutes of going online, says security vendor Sophos.
Microsoft warns of unpatched IE flaw
news.zdnet.com -- Microsoft has issued a security advisory for Internet Explorer, after a research firm published a working exploit to demonstrate how attackers could take advantage of the flaw.
Hackers spread Microsoft attack flaw exploit
software.silicon.com -- The risk of an attack related to a flaw in Microsoft Outlook Express climbed this week, after underground hacking sites began circulating sample code for exploiting it.
* Privacy: No new privacy news this week.

This week we would like to thank DarkMSTie for her suggestion of StumbleUpon. StumbleUpon is a fantastic free addition that can be added to your Internet Explorer and/or your Firefox toolbar that allows you to rate sites you visit, post reviews, as well as visit other StumbleUpon members and share and visit their links they find interesting. StumbleUpon has a large and very active community making it a site you could potentially spend hours or days on just going through links and web page categories you enjoy on the Internet. Anyone who enjoys browsing the Internet, meeting new people who share similar interests should definitely give this service a try.

Although I've come across this site in the past Stumble reintroduced me to it and all it's new features. Flickr is a great site that allows everyone to post their pictures and browse through thousands of other flickr users pictures.

A interesting site that takes Google's search results and reads them to you over your speakers or headphones.

A fun Macromedia flash page that enables numerous Internet users to draw on a Scratchpad at the same time, although abused by some users it can be very interesting to watch others draw and to also draw on the same surface at the same time.

Another interesting Internet page that contains an applet that draws a interesting trail as you move your mouse around the screen.
