1. New Computer Term.
DBA ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/d/dba.htm ) -
1. Short for DataBase Administrator, DataBase Analyst or
DataBase Architect. DBA is the individual responsible for
maintaining, analyzing and/or updating a computer Database.
2. Short for Doing Business As also known as "Fictitious
business name". DBA is a term used in legal or business
writing. DBA helps describe a individual who runs a sole
proprietor company not using his or her own name. The
DBA helps establish legal ownership of that name.
3. Abbreviation for DeciBels Adjusted, dBa is the noise
power calculated in dB. 0 dBa is equal to 3.16
picowatts (-85 dBm).

2. What's new in the news last week?
* BBC News | SCI/TECH - Scientists in Spain have identified
a new form of fungus that eats compact discs.
A geologist at the Museum of Natural History in Madrid
discovered the fungus, which belongs to the common
Geotrichum family, on CDs brought back from the
central American state of Belize.
The fungus had attacked the outer edge of the disc,
consuming plastic and even aluminum. It
rendered the CD unplayable.

This week we found an intresting CD-R product developed by
Verbatim that allows a CD-R disc that features a patented
Azo recording dye that reacts faster and with greater
sensitivity to laser light than other dyes allowing for
a quicker burn. These discs look to be a great option for
individuals who enjoy creating CD-R's.
