Page views ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/p/pageview.htm ) -
When referring to Internet advertising a page view is a unique load or view of a text based file, such as a html file. When looking at your web pages statistics a page view is a better representation of how many unique people are actually coming to your web page. If your statistics list hits and page views your hits will often be much greater than your total page views. For example, Computer Hope averages around seven million unique page views but averages close to 50 million hits.
