IBM Readies 'Virtual' Worm-Detection
Internetnews.com -- IBM is planning to launch a new worm-detection solution on Monday that takes the "honeypot" technique of fighting worms to a new level, Internetnews.com has learned.
* Security:
Microsoft to slap patch on risky IE hole
news.com.com -- As part of its monthly patching cycle, Microsoft plans on Tuesday to release five security bulletins with fixes for flaws in Windows and Office.
Bug Spoofs Internet Explorer Addresses
news.yahoo.com -- Microsoft's Internet Explorer, already stunned with a bug currently being used by hackers to infect PCs with spyware, suffers from yet another vulnerability, a researcher said Tuesday.
Microsoft Says Recovery from Malware Becoming Impossible
news.yahoo.com -- In a rare discussion on the severity of the Windows malware scourge, a Microsoft security official said businesses should consider investing in an automated process to wipe hard drives and reinstall operating systems as a practical way to recover from malware infestation.
Hackers put the futility back in Sun's grid utility
theregister.co.uk -- Just hours after it went live, Sun Microsystems' grid computing service was felled by hackers using a denial-of-service attack. Sun, however, won't reveal any hints about the culprits or confirm whether or not it has contacted law enforcement about the attack.
Sendmail security flaw identified, patch issued
computerworld.com -- Internet Security Systems said it has uncovered a flaw in the most recent version of the Sendmail open-source code used primarily in Unix-based and some Windows-based e-mail gateways.
* Privacy:
Feds shut down spam ring for good
news.com.com -- In a deal with the Federal Trade Commission and the state of California, the people behind a prolific spam operation have agreed to pay $475,000 and refrain from illegal activity.
Four charged in Brooklyn in `advance fee' e-mail scam
mercurynews.com -- Four Nigerian citizens have been indicted on charges that they ran an ``advance fee'' scam that promised consumers a portion of a large inheritance if they agreed to pay a fee to cover taxes, legal fees and other costs.
IRS, Security Company Warn of Tax Phishers
news.yahoo.com -- U.S. taxpayers aren't the only ones busy as the April 15 tax filing deadline approaches. Identity thieves posing as the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have also been active, sending out hundreds of thousands of phony phishing e-mail messages, according to the IRS and security vendors Symantec and Websense.

* With the new month of April, Computer Hope has posted its new monthly Poll - "Would you allow a chip to be implanted into you?" as well as results from last months poll, Quiz - "Which of the below is not a PC game? " and Tip - "Microsoft Word".
- Because of other extensive updates and other work being done recently the monthly updates and weekly newsletters were put on hold causing these to not be released / updated until today.
- Updated and posted beta version 6.0a of the Computer Hope search engine.
- Corrected issue with news headline parse script after coming across an issue with past news headlines improperly displaying dozens of links of the same article.
- Added additional questions and answers, adding the 800th question and answer.
- Updated several different site and off site scripts.
- Performed dozens of other minor updates throughout site.

Google has recently just released Google Calendar, an online calendar that any user can use freely to schedule and keep track of their events anywhere that has an Internet connection. The program is easy to use and very intuitive and is definitely worth trying.

Another great new Ajax program that acts and looks like Microsoft Word. ajaxWrite is a free service that allows you to create and even modify existing Microsoft .doc files online. Although the program has great functionality one feature we would have liked to see is a spell checker. In addition to a word processor the company has also created ajaxSketch, an online basic sketch program and eyespot an online video editing site. Users interested in new and upcoming web sites or who need any of the above free solutions to software should give these sites a try.

Another great site TuneFind allows you to find the name of songs from hundreds of different movies and TV shows.

Google has also recently released Google Mars a section of a site that allows you to use the Google maps technology to explore the planet Mars.
