baselinemag.com -- The chip maker, which launched its vPro brand for business desktops April 24, aims to increase PC security by stepping up the vPro machines' abilities to proactively guard against malware.

Patched Oracle database still at risk, bughunter says
news.zdnet.com -- Oracle's latest update fails to tackle a database flaw that has already been exploited, a security researcher has warned.

news.yahoo.com -- To the United States, he is a seriously dangerous man who put the nation's security at risk by committing "the biggest military computer hack of all time."

Yet Another Zero-day Smacks IE
news.yahoo.com -- Microsoft's Internet Explorer, which was just patched with 10 fixes two weeks ago, suffers from yet another zero-day vulnerability that can be exploited remotely, security firm Symantec said Monday.

Phishers Add VoIP to Bank-Scam Arsenal
sci-tech-today.com -- Phishers have added a new component in their efforts to gain their victims' bank account information -- Internet telephony Relevant Products/Services from . A San Francisco-based security firm disclosed that it has discovered a phishing con in which the grifters use Voice over IP (VoIP) technology to record data from banks' automated voice systems.

How To Stop Internet Identity Theft
news.yahoo.com -- Internet identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the U.S. today. For five straight years, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) ranked it as one of the most-reported types of fraud. Despite the increasing awareness of identity theft among consumers and financial institutions, the identity-theft racket shows no signs of slowing. Reported losses from identity theft, currently responsible for over 40 percent of all fraud complaints, approached nearly $300 million last year.

This week Google released SketchUp for free to Microsoft Windows users and soon to be available for the Macintosh users. SketchUp is a 3D modeling program that allows users to create 3D models on their computer. Anyone who has been interested in creating 3D models now have a great chance to experiment and learn a great 3D modeling tool.

Firefox has recently announced its winners for the Firefox flicks contest that asked users to create mini movie clips advertising the Mozilla Firefox browser. There were some very creative and some very funny submissions and is worth visiting and viewing the top videos and the winners of the contest.

Finally, we also recently came across the "It's a wonderful Internet" website, which is a short Macromedia Flash story that describes all the wonders of the Internet (similar to the movie "It's a wonderful life"). Something fun to watch when you have the time.
