Ethernet ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/e/ethernet.htm ) -
Originally known as Alto Aloha Network, Ethernet is a widely used local-area network (LAN) protocol originally created by Xerox PARC in 1973 by Robert Metcalfe and others (U.S. Patent # 4,063,220). Being the first network to provide Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection (CSMA/CD), Ethernet is a fast and reliable network solution that is still widely used today. Top News Story: MySpace gets into the
IM game
news.com.com -- Even as rumors swirl about AOL's planned MySpace killer the social network has launched a new battle with AOL: instant messaging.
MySpace has offered up a beta version of a new instant messaging client. MySpace has allowed users to message within the service for some time, the new software is an external client. The client allows users to chat with other MySpace users, as well as access to other MySpace services, including blogs, bulletins, events and classifieds.

Fantasy soccer league virus kicks off
news.zdnet.com -- A new Microsoft Excel virus is targeting fantasy soccer league fans, luring them with an offer of worksheets to track the performance of their team.
* Security:
Microsoft Patches Windows, Exchange
informationweek.com -- Microsoft on Tuesday released three security bulletins that patched a quintet of vulnerabilities sprinkled among Windows, the Exchange e-mail server, and -- for the first time analysts could recall -- a third-party product.
* Privacy:
Webroot uncovers thousands of stolen identities
news.yahoo.com -- Spyware researchers at Webroot Software. have uncovered a stash of tens of thousands of stolen identities from 125 countries that they believe were collected by a new variant of a Trojan horse program the company is calling Trojan-Phisher-Rebery.

ABC recently released a full episode streaming web page player that allows any user with a broadband Internet connection and a compatible browser that supports Macromedia Flash 8 to watch current and past episodes of all their favorite ABC shows online. Currently any user can freely watch each of the episodes of Desperate Housewives, Lost, Commander in Chief, and Alias with very brief commercial interruption. Right now the service is completely free and available to all users between May 1 and June 30, 2006. This is a fantastic idea and something many users have always wanted, we hope after this date that ABC continues to offer this service and that other major networks catch on and provide their own version of this service.
