DSP ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/d/dsp.htm ) -
Short for Digital Signal Processor, DSP is a processor that is optimized for performing the complex mathematical calculations inherent in processing digital signals.

A discrete DSP may be reprogrammed. A DSP integrated in a chipset typically contains its own ROM and cannot be reprogrammed.

Microsoft Unveils OneCare antivirus For Vista
networkcomputing.com -- Microsoft on Monday released a new beta for its Windows Live OneCare security service, marking the first time that the antivirus software runs on Windows Vista.

* Security:

Chinese crackers attack US.gov
theregister.co.uk -- Chinese hackers have launched a sustained attack against the web systems of the US Department of Commerce.

Hacker attacks hit home computers 50 times a night
technology.guardian.co.uk -- Home computers can be attacked by hackers more than 50 times a night, the results of an experiment showed today.

Scammers caught in the PhishTank
news.com.com -- A week after PhishTank officially launched, about 2,300 suspected data-thieving Web sites have been reported to the online community watch effort, according to the program's site.

Google Blog Gets Hacked
pcworld.com -- A hacker broke into Google's main official blog and posted a false message on Saturday, saying that the company had decided to cancel a joint project with eBay.

Software vulnerabilities already outnumber last year's crop
computerworld.com -- The number of new software security vulnerabilities identified by security experts, hackers and others during the first eight months of this year has already exceeded the total recorded for all of 2005, according to Internet Security Systems.

Yahoo! recently announced and posted its electronic anthropology project, a fascinating project that allows users to post digital data such as pictures, sounds, and text. All this electronic data will start being preserved by the Smithsonian Folkways Recording on November 8, 2006 and taking its place in history.

Belkin also recently introduced its universal docking solution the Notebook Expansion Dock. This looks to be a great solution for any laptop user looking for a good docking station solution for when they're at the home or office.

Stickam is quickly becoming another popular social networking site and we thought we would also mention this site for those users not yet familiar with it. What makes this site unique when compared to other big social networking sites such as MySpace and YouTube is the ability for users to chat using live web cam feeds. In other words have a live video of yourself as you talk / chat with other users.
