* Security:

Hackers break into water system network
infoworld.com -- An infected laptop gave hackers access to computer systems at a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, water treatment plant earlier this month.

Mozilla pledges to fix Firefox 2.0 bug
infoworld.com -- A second minor bug found in the Firefox 2.0 Web browser will be fixed, but users shouldn't encounter much of a problem in the mean time, a Mozilla official said Thursday.

Wikipedia Hijacked to Spread Malware
tech2.com -- Computer users are being warned against opening unsolicited mails after hackers took advantage of the popular Wikipedia encyclopedia in their attempt to spread malicious code.

New Windows attack can kill firewall
networkworld.com -- Hackers have published code that could let an attacker disable the Windows Firewall on certain Windows XP machines.

Linux guru warns on security of open-source code
news.zdnet.com -- Alan Cox, one of the most respected figures in the U.K. open-source community, has warned about complacency over the security of open-source projects.

Security firm punctures Vista's Patchguard
theregister.co.uk -- Security vendor Authentium has discovered a mechanism to get around Microsoft's controversial Patchguard kernel protection technology, which is due to ship in the 64-bit version of its forthcoming Windows Vista operating system.

The marklight booklight & bookmark is another interesting product we recently came across. This creative bookmark gives book readers the best of too worlds, a functional bookmark and a light for when you want to read in a dark place.

We also recently came across the speech accent archive site, a faciniting site that contains 606 different samples of different types of accents in the English language. This is an interesting site and a fun and easy way to listen to hundreds of different types of accents.

Finally, YouTube recently featured a great video featuring Sketch Furniture by FRONT. This is an interesting technology that allows a user to draw a 3D object in space by cameras recording invisble pen strokes in air and then have the object drawn printed out.
