itwire.com.au -- The company behind the AVG antivirus program is offering another freebie - this time it's a rootkit detector and remover for Windows.

Microsoft fixes 'critical' flaws
news.bbc.co.uk -- Windows users are being urged to download the latest security patches from Microsoft to protect themselves.

No end in sight to hacking of 'WoW' accounts
news.com.com -- For months, hackers--most likely in China and Russia, according to security watchers--have been surreptitiously installing keylogging software on WoW players' Windows computers, hijacking their accounts and selling off their often valuable in-game assets.

Can an iPod Bring Down Your Company?
pcworld.com -- The recent buzz about security threats posed by iPods to corporations has reinforced the need for IT managers to treat these devices like any other removable media that employees with malicious intent can use to extract sensitive data.

Office zero-day bugs spoil Patch Tuesday
news.com.com -- A trio of what appear to be new, yet-to-be-patched flaws in Microsoft Office has surfaced, according to security researchers at McAfee.

Oracle patches to fix 37 flaws
news.com.com -- Oracle next week plans to release fixes for 37 security flaws across all its products, the company said Tuesday.

Asus Web site harbors threat
news.com.com -- The main Web site of the Taiwanese hardware maker, known for its Asus branded PCs and motherboards, has been rigged by hackers to serve up malicious software that attempts to exploit a critical Windows flaw, security experts said Friday.

Disk with data on 2.9M Georgians lost
news.yahoo.com -- A computer disk containing the names, birth dates and Social Security numbers of 2.9 million Medicaid and children's health care recipients is missing, Georgia health officials said Tuesday.

Homeland Security wants master key for the Internet
theinquirer.net -- THE US Department of Homeland Security is insisting that Verisign hand over the master keys of the Internet.

IRS still losing laptops
news.yahoo.com -- A new report filed by federal security auditors finds that that the
Internal Revenue Service has had almost 500 laptop computers lost or stolen over the last three years, many of which were loaded with sensitive taxpayer information.

University probes possible data breach
news.com.com -- A possible computer security breach at the University of California at San Francisco may have put 46,000 campus and medical center faculty, staff and students at risk of identity fraud.

Although a service Google has been developing for a while, there has been a lot of press recently about Google 411. For anyone who may have missed the recent news articles or are not familiar with this service and are in the United States we highly recommend trying this service or programming this 1-800-466-4411 into your cell phones. Google 411 is a great service that allows anyone to get free information about locations in their city or town.

We also recently received an evite for an upcoming party and thought this service was also worth mentioning. This is a great site that allows anyone to easily create an online invitation and have an online place for participants to RSVP, leave notes, get directions, and more.
