* ZDNET: In a stunt involving Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and vice president Jim Allchin, helicopters will circle the companys Redmond, Wash.-based headquarters as the pair hand-off Windows XP to PC makers, said sources familiar with the event. The helicopters are expected to be decorated with Windows XP and major PC maker logos.

- Microsoft Corp. announced on Tuesday that it has fixed a security hole in its free Web-based Hotmail email service that could have exposed customer emails.
- Hoping to reduce the impact of security threats such as the "Code Red" worm, Microsoft on Thursday released a tool designed to help less technically sophisticated users eliminate vulnerabilities in their servers.

The service is called eSnipe and the idea behind eSnipe is to automatically outbid other users in the last couple of seconds of a bid. This is a great idea and service for anyone who frequently uses E-bay to purchase products.
