1. New Computer Term.

Localhost - Name describing the local computer on a network.
Generally this name can be used to test a computers network
card / IP address. For example typing ping localhost would
ping the local IP address of 127.0.0.1.

2. What's new in the news last week?

* 3/09/2001 - Intel Corp. became the latest victim of the
slowing U.S. economy today, warning that first-quarter
revenue will be below expectations and announcing plans to
reduce its workforce by about 6%.

The chip giant said it will cut 5,000 of its 90,000 jobs
during the next nine months as part of an effort to offset
the lag in revenue, which Intel attributed to the spread of
a softening in demand from the PC market to the server
business and other corporate-level IT sectors. Read the
