3. Computer Virus, Security and/or privacy threats

* Virus:
- CNET: The latest and friskiest versions of the Klez worm were by far the most active computer threat last month, according to a new report from British antivirus company Sophos.
The Klez.g and Klez.h worms were responsible for 77.8 percent of all virus infections in April, according to the report.
* Security:
- MSNBC: Think you are safe from the cryptic world of wireless computer hacking? Think again. Security researchers who study wireless networks have found another embarrassing information leak, this one involving well-known retail giants. Some stores use cash registers with wireless networks that beam data including credit card numbers to a central computer elsewhere in the store. But a hacker can sit in a stores parking lot and listen in to the data. Indeed, consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co. shut off wireless cash registers at its stores Wednesday after being alerted to the potential problem, saying it was investigating the issue.
- Internet News: GreyMagic Software said both Netscape and Mozilla browsers are at risk for an attack that would allow local files to be read.
According to a security posting on its Web site, the Israel-based software company found that a component for retrieving XML documents from a Web server, known as XMLHTTP, can be used to read local files by blindly following server-side redirections.
* Privacy:
- Internet News: SONICblue, maker of a series of digital video recorders, was ordered this week by a federal magistrate in Los Angeles to reveal the individual viewing habits of its ReplayTV 4000 customers and pinpoint the frequency with which movie and television shows are recorded and electronically shared with other users.

We have recently been getting a lot of e-mails from various users asking why they are unable to click on any of the links throughout our newsletter. The majority of these e-mails were AOL users; unfortunately AOL requires each link to be anchored to be displayed properly. Because our newsletter is plain text we cannot format all links to be anchored. Therefore for our AOL customers we have created a link at the bottom of our newsletter, allowing each AOL user to quickly get to our Newsletter page for an HTML version of our newsletter. In addition we have also created document CH000479 that has information about how to get hyperlinks within your newsletter for all users that may not already have links.
