* Virus:
- Los Angeles (Reuters): Some video game players got a nasty surprise this week when they downloaded software from a popular online gaming site -- the Nimda computer virus.
* Security:
- C|Net: A popular open-source program for encrypted communications has a serious flaw that could let Internet attackers slip into servers running the software, said its creators and a security company this week.
The program, Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH), is included in many widely used operating system distributions, such as OpenBSD 3.0, OpenBSD 3.1 and FreeBSD-Current, all open-source variants of the Unix OS. Such operating systems appear on networking equipment and security appliances, among other things.
- InternetNews: Microsoft is warning their Commerce Server software customers that they should immediately apply a security patch to fix a number of flaws in the program that could allow hackers to take control of the server.
- ZDNet: Australia--Melbourne-based IT firm, itSecure, today issued a strong warning to users of recent version Windows Media Player to download software from Microsoft to patch the application's security hole.
- C|Net: Security experts are rushing to decode a worm program that exploits a 2-week-old flaw to infect computers running vulnerable versions of the popular open-source Apache Web server application.
* Privacy:
- SFGate: For the first time since the Cold War, the FBI is visiting public libraries to keep tabs on the reading habits of people the government considers dangerous.

http://www.westerndigital.com/company/releases/Pressrelease.asp?release=20020625-0510
This week we were sent a press release about a 200 GB hard disk drive from Western Digital. This is a great press release and really excites us that a hard disk drive manufacturer is releasing such a large capacity hard disk drive, the largest to date.
