UHCI ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/u/uhci.htm ) -
Short for Universal Host Controller Interface, UHCI is a type of USB host controller that consists of two parts Host Controller Driver (HCD) and Host Controller (HC). The HCD software is responsible for scheduling the traffic on USB by posting and maintaining transactions in system memory. HCD is part of the system software and is typically provided by the operating system vendor.

- ComputerWorld: European data-protection authorities concluded this week that Microsoft Corp.'s .Net Passport online authentication system risks breaching European Union privacy laws and said that they would continue to study issues raised by the service. EU officials did not say whether a formal investigation would be launched.
- CNET: More than six months after filing for bankruptcy protection, Drkoop.com is selling its assets, including its members' e-mail addresses, to Vitacost.com.
