MPP ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/m/mpp.htm ) -
Short for Massively Parallel Processing, MPP is a type of computing that uses CPUs in parallel to execute a single program. One of the significant differences between SMP and MPP is that with MPP each CPU has its own memory which helps to prevents a possible hold up that you may experience with SMP when all the CPU's attempt to access the memory at once.

This week we talk about Internet Sizer by Telcordia. This is a very interesting site that allows visitors to watch the Internet grow in real-time by the amount of Internet Hosts and Internet users. In addition to watching real-time data you can view previous months averages and various other interesting information about the Internet growth.
When last viewing this page we noticed a drastic drop in Internet hosts with the months of July and August being Null. We are uncertain if this is an issue with the chart or the growth of Internet hosts has actually declined significantly in the last two months. We e-mailed Telcordia about this question to see if we could find additional information. We will e-mail the results of our findings in next weeks newsletter.
The above items as well as other new and innovative services and technologies can be found on our What's Hip section on our News page at:
