NetBIOS ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/n/netbios.htm ) -
Short for Network Basic Input/Output System, NetBIOS was developed by IBM, Microsoft and Sytek and is what allows software applications commonly used on IBM compatible computers communicate with network hardware, allowing data to be transmitted properly over a network.
NetBIOS commonly communicates on ports 137, 138 and 139. If your network or computer has a firewall setup that blocks any of these ports it is likely warning messages will be received when your computer communicates with another computer that utilizes NetBIOS (for example Microsoft Windows). To prevent these errors or warnings you must provide access on these ports.

Top News Story: Next major Windows release to be client only
* ComputerWorld: The delayed ship date for Windows .Net Server 2003 has prompted Microsoft Corp. to change its plans and skip the server release that had been code-named Longhorn.
Bob O'Brien, a group product manager in Microsoft's Windows server division, confirmed last week that Longhorn will be a client-only release. He said the "common-sense decision" to scratch the server version reflected customer feedback that Longhorn would emerge too soon after Windows .Net Server 2003, which is due early next year.

We recently came across an innovative MP3 player known as the Duex mp304. What makes this MP3 player different from similar products is its size, which is about the size of a pack of gum, the availability of being a real-time voice recorder and/or portable data storage device, and its backlit LCD display. Running on one AAA battery, this device can play up to 128 minutes of MP3 playback at 128Kbps for up to 12 hours. This product looks to be a great solution for a MP3 player.
