Top News Story: Leaking Capacitors Muck up Motherboards
* spectrum.ieee.org -- It has all the elements of a good thriller: a stolen secret formula, bungled corporate espionage, untraceable goods, and lone wolves saving the little guy from the misdeeds of multinational corporations. In this case, a mistake in the stolen formulation of the electrolyte in a capacitor has wrecked hundreds of PCs and may wreck still more in what is an industry wide problem.

4. What's new at Computer Hope this week?

- Computer Hope has been continuing to work on its scripts. Although behind schedule we have posted the open beta of our new search engine. You may test this new search engine at:
http://www.computerhope.com/cgi-bin/bsearch.cgi
Our new search engine has several new and improved features. The most significant of these is the new search capabilities. In the past our search engines results were based off keywords, however the new search engine indexes the whole site fast and efficiently. Like our past search engine the results for each of the pages are placed into folders. These folders include a standard pages folder, help pages folder, question and answers folder, dictionary pages folder, company contacts folder, computer games folder, history folder, and finally a newsletter folder when matches are found.
Although the search engine is not complete and is still being worked on, feel free to contact our webmasters with any issues that you encounter and/or any recommendations you would like to make.

Earlier this week we linked to an optical camouflage in our news section. This week for our 'All Talk' section we thought it would be more informative as well as interesting to link directly to the Optical Camouflage section of the Tachi Lab website. Optical Camouflage allows a projected image to be masked onto a masked object, causing the object to appear transparent. On this site you will find additional information about this technology as well as movies and pictures demonstrating its capabilities.
The above items as well as other new and innovative services and technologies can be found on our What's Hip section on our News page at:
