Information about the Blaster Worm

VIRUS INFORMATION

08/11/2003 - The Blaster worm also known as mblast, lovesan, W32.Blaster.Worm, Worm_mblast.a, and Win32.Posa.worm. The blaster worm is a software worm designed to locate and exploit Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 through open RPC ports TCP port 135

Note: Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME users are not effected by this worm.

SYMPTOMS

Computers infected with this worm may experience the following symptoms:

  1. Computer automatically rebooting every five minutes.
  2. Mblast.exe is located on machine or seen as a TSR.
  3. Computer freezing after first few minutes of booting. 
  4. Computer causing an unexpected errors after first few minutes after booting.
